The computer is up and running now…big thanks to Tom at TCSI Computers for creating this masterpiece and then re-creating it after a disastrous shipping incident (with a company I won’t bother to name). Everything is running smoothly and I feel a bit like I should be working on something more important to humanity than audio production…but it’s just way too cool.
On top of that, I picked up my new studio monitors (speakers) last week and FINALLY plugged them in yesterday afternoon. Again; way too cool. The sound is fantastic and they even look cool. Tom, if you read this, the blue LED you installed on the computer case matches perfectly with the blue LED “on” light for the monitors…good choice. Another big thanks to Unique Squared for a great deal on those monitors. I was really excited that they came with free XLR cables, but it turns out I didn’t need them anyhow. (had to pick up some different/compatible cables to plug into the computer) Really hoping to put together a little something this week using the new rig.
Once I have things a little more tidy inside the studio, I’ll snap some pictures. At the moment, I’m way too embarrassed to show it off. Plus, I have to make a few changes and additions before it’s complete…a little soundproofing, probably a new desk since the one I’m using now is glass top, and a stand for my microphone. Come to think of it, I can probably use one of those XLR cables for the mic. Thanks Unique Squared!
